About The Wineries
The SoVA Wine Trail, which those "in the know" refer to as "SoVA" was established in Spring 2009 by an enthusiastic group of grape grower/wine makers with 9 wineries located in Southern Virginia. Southern Virginia is an up-and-coming grape-growing region that hosts a unique and ideal terroir for growing a vast variety of grapes for fine wine making.
SoVA has made a name for itself bringing wine enthusiasts to
Southern Virginia for a more “organic” and personal experience
where guests often have the opportunity to sample and learn about
award-winning wines along side SoVA's wine makers and vineyard
owners.
In addition to our now 12 wineries, SoVA has a great group of inns,
bed & breakfasts, restaurants, and exciting points of interest
to keep visitors busy! SoVA is perfect for a romantic Virginia
weekend getaway, a Girls Trip or a day trip being less than four
hours from Washington D.C. and Northern Virgina, two hours from
Richmond, Virginia, 1.5 hours from Raleigh, and less than an hour
from Greensboro, North Carolina. Check out our events page to learn
about our upcoming festival and Spring events dates. We're in the
process of re-designing our website to be more tablet and mobile
user- friendly. Please "excuse our dust" as we prepare to launch
our new site for Spring 2012.
Live Passionately...Wine Your Way Through Southern
Virginia!
We look forward to seeing y'all soon!
